"The Two Wheeled Approach to Self Esteem"
l l l l lWorld Cup - Grouse Mountain
North Vancouver, B.C.
July 4th to 8th 2001
The World Cup Extravaganza finally made its way to the west coast of Canada and Sprockids was there to take in the show! As you looked around the festivities you quickly noticed that there were Sprockids Jerseys everywhere. Young riders of all ages, along with quite a few adults could be seen among the crowds, as well as part of the army of volunteers that were there to ensure that the event was a success.
At the bottom of Grouse Mountain, among the big rigs of the racing teams was the Sprockids informational tent and display. The tent was manned by young riders who were there to spread the word about the life style of mountain biking. On the other side of the mountain Sprockid riders assisted with the "Ride up the Mountain" organized by John Henry Bicycles. This ride was a great way to get up to the top of Grouse to watch the races, get a little exercise, and after the day was done enjoy a thrilling decent back down to the bottom.
At the Awards Ceremonies young Sprockids handed out the flowers to the podium finishers. Out on the race courses older Sprockids were there to direct the racers and keep the events running smoothly. There were even some graduates of the Sprockids Program racing in the junior category! Sprockids was definitely happening at the World Cup up on Grouse Mountain.
