Sprockids “Pedalling Through the Curriculum”
Mountain biking finds it’s way into every aspect of the curriculum in Mr. Detwiller’s Grade 6/7 class at Gibsons Elementary, located on the Sunshine Coast of British Columbia, Canada. This year the students are very busy working their way through the CCA (Canadian Cycling Association) Sprockids Program. They are the first school class in Canada to be doing the program as part of their daily curriculum. The CCA Sprockids Program is the National “Introductory to Cycling Program” for Canada and takes the participants through the various skills needed to enjoy cycling in a fun and safe manner.
