Sprockids gets people on mountain bikes
Sprockids teaches valuable life skills
At Sprockids 'no-one sits on the bench'

Main Activities:

Sprockids runs after school, spring break and summer programs for young people to learn the skills of mountain biking in a graduated fashion. A “train the trainer” model creates the opportunity for parents, teachers, teenagers, etc to be trained in delivering the program in their communities. Young people register for a 6-12 session program, wherein they move through a series of modules designed to enhance their mountain biking skills and simultaneously develop a sense of accomplishment and self confidence that can spill over in to all areas of life. As these young people develop their skills, they become eligible to train others, thus further enhancing their development and the development of others.

Programs are designed in conjunction with the schools. Sprockids provides bikes and other equipment where needed, and provides training sessions and manuals for the trainers. Other programming is implemented on demand, with the different communities served including youth at risk, First Nations, street kids etc. The low or subsidized program cost provides affordability and accessibility across a broad spectrum.
